Martin Ryan (28 August 1923 – 13 January 2003) was an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1940s and '50s who at representative level played for Great Britain, and England, and at club level for Wigan, playing at Fullback, i.e. number 1.
International honours
Martin Ryan won caps for England while at Wigan in 1943 against Wales, in 1945 against Wales, in 1946 against France (2 matches), and Wales, in 1947 against Wales (2 matches), in 1948 against France (2 matches), in 1949 against France (2 matches), in 1950 against Wales, and won caps for Great Britain while at Wigan in 1947 against New Zealand, in 1948 against Australia (2 matches), and in 1950 against Australia.[1]
